Salem Students Honored At Bryant, Holy Cross, UNH

SALEM, MA — Salem students were among those who recently graduated from the Univesity of New Hampshire. Because of coronavirus restrictions, an in-person commencement ceremony will be scheduled at a future date to be determined. Derek Ramsey graduated with a BSME degree in mechanical engineering Eric MacAdams graduated with a BA degree in communications. Cara Joyce graduated with a BS degree in homeland security. Eve Smith, of Salem, received a bachelor of arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross. Smith is among 748 bachelor of arts degree candidates Holy Cross celebrated at its 175th Commencement held in person on Friday, May 21 on the College's Fitton Field. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a career diplomat and representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, delivered this year's address virtually to the Class of 2021 and received an honorary degree. "Class of 2021: I have hope - I have light in my eyes - because of you," Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield told the graduates. "When I think of your promise, your potential, I swell with pride. With your Holy Cross mentors and role models by your side, I believe you will become men and women for others. I trust you will go where you are needed. And graduates, I know you will keep hope alive." At Bryant University's 158th Commencement ceremonies on May 22, 840 graduates of the Class of 2021 and their families and guests gathered on campus to celebrate earning a Bryant degree. Ryan Dumont, of Salem, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree in Finance. "There has probably never been a graduating class more deserving of a Commencement and celebration than the Class of 2021," said Bryant President Ross Gittell."You have earned your degree under extraordinary circumstances.
