Description
Roger is a 55 pound German Shepherd/Pitt mix. Since getting Roger from a shelter in 2013 when he was 1 and a half, he’s been our companion and couch cuddle-bug. However, we recently welcomed a baby into the home and the transition has been difficult for him. We are hoping to find a new home for Roger where he can continue to thrive.
He knows basic commands, is house-trained, and is a smart and a quick learner, especially when treats are involved. Roger is happy to spend the day napping on his bed or curled up on the couch while we work, but he is crate trained, too. He loves a daily walk, but at 9 years old, he is not going to overrun the house with energy.
Roger needs to take it slow with new people and would not do well in a house with children. He has nipped (no bruised or broken skin) when his body language is ignored. He also is not dog friendly. Roger is an affectionate and loyal dog, but he keeps his circle small.
We are looking to place Roger with a patient and experienced owner. We love him dearly and know he can thrive in a new environment. We are asking a modest rehoming fee of $100 which will be donated to a local animal shelter.
