The MAC is hiring! To start immediately… The Milford Arts Council, a thriving organization in Milford CT since 1972, seeks an energetic marketing strategist and creative in the role of Marketing Specialist. The Marketing Specialist is a lead ambassador and public face in the community, handling all aspects of marketing, communication, and public relations to include branding, digital and print media, and experiential marketing. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while efficiently handling multiple projects is a must. The Specialist is responsible for a holistic marketing strategy for the organization, and must handle the promotion of multiple simultaneous projects and events as well as a team of volunteers. Reporting to and directly working with the Executive Director, the Marketing Specialist will develop communications to drive awareness, interest, and revenue (sales) for programming through outreach and engagement. The Marketing Specialist will initiate, write, design, and manage all print and online program and organization communications and campaigns identifying outreach potential and promoting philanthropic and community collaborations based on knowledge of the MAC’s mission and goals. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree, or 3+ years experience preferably in marketing, communications, event management or related field Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects Exceptional organizational skills, ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Exceptional writing and editing skills – including experience writing press releases, blogs, and pitching stories to local press Basic Graphic and Web Design Skills plus experience with platforms including: Squarespace, MailChimp, Google Suite, Canva Strong Digital Marketing Skills Exceptional verbal communication skills Comfort speaking with a wide variety of people and communities on and off camera. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines Ability to represent the organization and Executive Director for community committees, public functions, and with potential community partners upon request and in the ED’s absence. A willingness to learn, innovative ideas, creative problem solving, and flexibility are desirable qualities. Flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends One week paid vacation/Two weeks optional non-paid vacation Duties and Responsibilities Include: Oversee and provide content for all social media platforms Create Strategic Marketing Plan and annual/monthly updates for plan Expand audience reach, engagement, and attendance Manage website, including all event content, blog, photo gallery, and calendar Create and organize distribution of all print media including annual calendar brochure Design ad campaigns for events and programs Maintain MailChimp platform & increase email subscribers Write press releases and all written content Maintain media and community relations Evaluate insights and data provided by social media platforms and website Collaborate on experiential marketing experience outreach ideas Manage interns, volunteers, and vendors Research competitors, services, and demographic info Create, direct, and oversee photo and video content shoots Maintain and protect brand identity Write internal and external communication Maintain social media patron relations Perform on-camera and audio interviews Attend BOD and community meetings as requested Attend workshops, lectures, and conferences when appropriate Assist in event planning and fundraising when needed
