The City of Ames continues to take applications from residents who have been affected by COVID-19 and need rent, mortgage, or utility assistance. The City received a third round of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding in the amount of $356,455.
"We still have funds available for Ames residents who meet qualifications," said Vanessa Baker-Latimer, Housing Coordinator. "We know this has been a very difficult year for so many people, and we have financial aid available for those struggling with basics like paying for housing or utilities."
To be eligible for funding, an Ames resident must be able to document a loss of income directly related to COVID-19, must be a United States citizen or have eligible immigration status, must have no more than $1,500 liquid assets, and must not have household income that exceeds established maximums.
