Description

I have a gorgeous black & gold 5-toed rooster, and will send one of his girls with him, a laying Jersey Giant hen. Beaker, my rooster is unusually beautiful and unique. He's not aggressive with me, I pick him up and take him out of the run, and he seems to enjoy sitting on my arm like a falcon, or on my shoulder...aye matey! I'm allowed to have him where I live, but at times he leads his ladies in a cacophony of warning sounds. Unfortunately that has been frequent lately because a couple of tenacious foxes that have found easy chicken dinners somewhere else are looking for a free meal here. He's also a wonderful watchdog rooster. If someone comes onto the proprty he lets you know about it. My neighbors haven't complained yet, and probably won't, but across the street are a retired couple, next to me is someone with pre-toddler twins, and I don't want to be that neighbor who just doesn't care. Gladys, is a very gentle Jersey Giant I'm sending with him so that he doesn't get too lonely. They all turned two years old in March. I don't keep a light on so the girls get a break from laying in the winter. They're very healthy, I bought the hen, Gladys, as a day old chick from a hatchery and raised her, along with 7 others. Beaker came a couple months later. He came from Tractor Supply and I was told he was a "Southern Rambler." I couldn't find what kind of breed that is, but he's stunning! I'm not asking a rehoming fee, but I need to be convinced they will be well taken care of before I let them go.
