Need plumber with Moen cartridge exp

I need a plumber who understands Moen cartridges. Ancient sink faucet, see pic. I think it's a 1225, and I bought one at KIE, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove the old one! There is supposed to be a retaining clip---? I am not seeing anything resembling a retaining clip! HELP !!
