Frustrated Bass Player

Hi. I play bass and acoustic guitar. I prefer up tempo rock like STP, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden - stuff that sounds great to an audience and is fun to play. My problem is I'm 65 years old and every damn time I communicate with other musicians around my age, they show me what I call an "OLD MAN" list. Crap that was recorded 50-60 years ago. I have to hold back a gag reflex. What amazes me is that they have been playing these tunes that long and STILL like them. I'm bored out of my friggin' mind with CCR, Doobie Bros, The Beatles, 70's Disco (OMG!!!), Grateful Dead and a lot of other "classic rock" that was good in it's day but is now just OLD and stale. I don't give a damn about the demographics of the players in the band but I am into a certain genre of rock that most guys my age just don't get, can't play and won't leave their comfort zone to try. Frustrating as hell. If you feel the same way - hit me up. I have musical skills, premium gear, time, transportation and (despite all of the above) a great attitude.
