I'm a fully committed musician. I had a good thing going before the pandemic. I was playing bass for a country band. It was a national touring act, so I was making a decent amount from gigging. I had been able to play music and not work a 'real job' since 2017. The pandemic obviously changed things for just about all of us. After the gigs disappeared I started writing my own songs. All the originals and the few covers we mix in will fit the bands branding. A few examples of the covers would be David Bowie-Fame, Prince-Cream, Dr Dog-Jackie Wants A Black Eye, Grant Greens version of a day in the life... I'm playing music out of complete passion but I want the band to be successful. The only way to succeed is for the band to make steady money. Without money and fans the band is nothing. The band won't be able to grow and the vision will never flourish. The gameplan is to play one set gigs once gigs become available. We'll play originals and mix in one or two covers a set. Once we have built up a fanbase and have some cred from playing a few decent venues, we'll start playing two set gigs. Two set gigs obviously gives the band way more earning potential. Crazy long post, I know. I really wanted to lay it all out.
