Annual Softball Benefit game between the Stratford Fire Department and Stratford Lady Brakettes This years game is going to benefit the family of recently fallen firefighter Ricardo Torres Jr. who lost his life fighting a structure fire on Valley St. in the City of New Haven last month. Firefighter Torres with crew members from Engine 6 and Truck 4 were searching for victims trapped above the fire when he ran out of air and died of his injuries. The Connecticut Firefighters Charitable foundation was founded in 1998 after a series of fires occurred where children had suffered burn injuires.  Local Firefighters worked with the only Burn center in the region Brideport Hospital to care for burn survivors.   The Childrens Burn Camp was formed to give burn surviors a place to have fund and enjoy themselves.   The Foundation has been raising funds through many different means for over 20 years.
