LIVE AT THE BLACK BOX: Miki P & The Swallowtails with special guests: Porch Light Mamas and KUJO!! The Black Box and Miki P and the Swallowtails invite you out to an evening of original music from Kansas City artist's, spanning folk, rock, R&B, and pop genres. You'll hear the sounds of the Porch Light Mamas, taking you back to the sultry vibes of the 60s and 70s, playing in a suburban-folk vein and echoing the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Greta Van Fleet, Pink Floyd and more. Following the Mamas' will be R&B, "electric grit" songwriter KuJo, a live-looping guitar player and singer specializing in sensual and clever songs. Ending the evening with a lively rock-inspired set will be Miki P and the Swallowtails; bringing together singer-songwriter styles with a bassoon and cello twist, backed by a heavy rhythm section and led by Miki's powerhouse vocal and guitar styles. It will be a night of talented original artists, playing from the heart of the midwest. THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE GATES OPEN: 7pm SHOW: 8pm-1130pm **this event is approximately three hours in length** What to Bring:Your mask (required) and other PPE that makes you feel safe! The Black Box Staff will be implementing safety protocols as suggested and required by local, state and national guidelines, union standards and other best practices from arts organizations. Other info: The Tree Hugger Truck, resident food truck and vegan eatery, will be open for business Thursday - Saturday 4 - 8pm and you can purchase food and drinks directly from them and bring them to your seat.
