Description

This September 11th marks 20 years since one of the most tragic days in our nation's history. On October 25, 2001 a bill was introduced in the House of Representatives to officially make September 11th a national day of mourning. From 2001 forward, September 11th has been proclaimed as Patriot Day. On behalf of our local community, Perry Lodge No. 185 will be proudly hosting an event to honor those who lost their lives on that fateful day. From the hardworking civilians at the World Trade Center and the amazing heroes who sacrificed their lives on American Airlines Flight 93, to the Firefighters, EMT's and Police Officers. Come help us honor those who were lost that day and show support for the heroes that sacrificed their lives to bring down a plane to save others. The event will begin at the Salem Memorial Building (785 E. State St) at 12:00 pm. There will be public safety vehicles and activities outside as well as door prizes, etc. inside the building. The 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will be held at the KSU City Center (230 N. Lincoln Ave) and begins at 7:00 pm. The doors open at 6:15 pm. Donations will be accepted after the ceremony. All donations will be put back into the community for health and safety projects. *Admission is Free, but there are only 190 tickets available for the ceremony. Reserve your spot quickly. Perry Lodge No. 185 was founded in 1850 and has striven to help men become better, and in turn, strengthen their community.
