Description
SPRING VALLEY, NY — Tyriiq Isaiah Aaron Seward, shot to death in Spring Valley on Memorial Day, was a former village resident who had moved to South Carolina three years ago.
Born Feb. 16, 2002, Tyriiq was a kindhearted young man who loved basketball, music, and his family, his cousin Natassia Seward told Patch. "He was the baby boy of the family, an inspiration and mentor to his nephews, and a genuine friend to his peers."
He lived in Mauldin, SC, with his mother, Sharon Seward, and was due to graduate from Mauldin High School, SC, this month.
Seward was visiting his hometown to do a music video and was gunned down on his walk from the video set. The shooter has yet to be identified, she said.
A GoFundMe page she set up to cover funeral expenses has raised $11,528 of its $10,000 goal as of Friday.
"Tyriiq was loved by many and is severely missed. The Seward family wants to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support. Please keep us in your prayers," she said.
