LEVITTOWN, NY — A man was killed Thursday night after he was hit by a truck while crossing Wantagh Avenue in Levittown. According to police, a 50-year-old man was walking his bicycle across the intersection at Hempstead Turnpike at 10:08 p.m. when he was hit by a Mac truck. The man suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:28 p.m. by a doctor. The driver of the truck remained at the scene. Police conducted a brake and safety check of the truck. Police have not publicly identified the man who was killed. The investigation is ongoing.
