Mattie is a barn cat looking for a home! He is not tame and wants to just be off doing his own thing. He isn't at all aggressive, but he's terrified of people and really needs someone who understands that he is never going to be a lap cat. Unfortunately, most of the people I have that are looking for barn cats want ones that are able to be petted & played with by young kids, & that's probably not ever going to be Mattie. He has been confined in a crate at my place & does great with a litter box there-he will definitely need to be crated for a bit at his adopter's home (or confined in a barn or shed) for a bit to make sure he gets to know the area. He has a wound on his head but it is healing up fine, he injured himself in the trap. His rehoming fee is $10. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, given an FVRCP shot, given a Capstar for fleas, & given a rabies shot. He was trapped at a store that he's unfortunately not welcome back at, so he needs to be relocated, but is accustomed to living outside. I have fixed 150 cats over the last 9 months & it's been a great run, but unfortunately I am having to put a halt on everything for a bit, as my car died (turns out driving 300-500 miles a week for cat trapping/fixing in a 1994 Camry is not a good idea, who knew!). I'm having to rely on friends to drive me to meet adopters, so please be patient with me & I can only meet people in the Athens/Commerce area.
