The Door Builder is responsible for receiving, building, packaging and shipping pre-hung doors and other building products. The Door Builder must operate within product/safety standards. policies and procedures/ Working together the Door Shop Manager, other warehouse staff. administrative and sales staff communicates progress of schedules production runs and output. storage of material, packaging and finished goods. Duties: SAFETY IS THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY! Receiving & Deliveries: -Unload inbound vendor trucks promptly and without causing material damage, in the order of arrival into the facility. Make sure material belongs to Division and is undamaged before unloading truck. Carefully count and check the quantity of materials being received and record those amounts on the receiving document. Bring all damaged inventory to the attention of Management. -Build customer orders from inventory accurately, without damaging the material, and in a timely fashion so that deliveries can be made as promised to customers. -Load trucks in a fashion that will accommodate easy unloading at each destination and minimize re-handling and damage to materials. -Assist Truck Drivers in tying down and tarping outbound shipments. Warehouse: - Properly store merchandise in its designated area immediately upon arrival at the warehouse to avoid damage caused by multiple handing and improper storage. Be responsible for keeping assigned area of warehouse orderly. -Communicate inventory condition and stock levels to Management on an ongoing basis in order to avoid running out of stock. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -High School Diploma or GED equivalent; at least three (3) years relevant driving experience. -Skill in safely operating designated forklifts and other vehicles. Ability to preform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions. -Ability to communicate effectively and work independently. -Maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, customers and general public. -Ability to read and interpret general documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, tape measurers, and procedure materials. -Observe and abide by all company policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
