Layfield is looking for an exceptional Delivery Driver / Material Handler who will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes; reviewing orders prior to delivery. In addition, assisting in warehouse upkeep-including deliveries of tools and equipment needed for personnel, assist in warehouse inventory, loading and unloading trucks, assists with production of geosynthetic fabrication, and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. This position will report to the USA Region Supply Chain Manager. The position will be based out of our Kent, Washington facility. Key Responsibilities: Primary: • Pack and load products onto trucks according to company’s specifications • Assist in Scheduling • Conduct inspections of vehicle before departing to deliver goods • Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes • Maintain ongoing communication with mobile route device • Unload goods as per client specifications • Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs • Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer • Input of order information in company software Secondary: • Manages and organizes tools and material for daily use on warehouse floor. • Correlate with Supply Chain Manager and Production in the staging and organization of the warehouse floor. • Responsible for proper issue of material and assisting in warehouse cleanliness • Keep a thorough record management of all tools and materials that are removed or returned to warehouse • Assist in daily production of fabricated geosynthetic products Required Skills & Knowledge: • Knowledge of LTL/Freight processes required • Extensive knowledge of load ability, truck axels, Truck bed requirements etc. • Clean Driving Record • Comfort with transportation software and mobile transportation devices • Background in Manufacturing/Construction Environment • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask • Ability to remain objective, professional, and effective under pressure • Analytical analysis of shipping and vendor documents • Basic math skills • High degree of written and oral communication Education & Experience: • 5+ years of delivery driving • 5+ years logistics and transportation service experience • Familiarity with construction products and the proper loading of custom products Minimum 5 years of shipping experience with LTL Freight and freight forwarding
