WHO WE ARE: We specialize in post natural disaster recovery work, providing business continuity and logistics services for the telecommunications and energy sector. For over 20 years we have provided disaster response services for nearly every major disruption and natural disaster since Dennis in 1999. We have a phenomenal core team of contractors and are looking to expand our team with qualified individuals. Because of the dynamic and time-sensitive nature of the work, availability is a key factor! If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can be available, this can be a very rewarding opportunity! Starting compensation is $15 per hour as an independent contractor with opportunities for advancement. SUMMARY: Provide a fair and accurate on site evaluation of damage or loss caused by accident or natural event. Assess and record the extent of the damage. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Identify primary and secondary electrical facilities including poles, primary wires, secondary wires, services, primary insulator, transformers, fuses, reclosers, regulators, OCS’s substations etc. (We provide training.) - Identify and differentiate the difference between electrical, cablevision and telephone lines. - Identify necessary repairs required for restoration. - Work as a two-man team assigned to patrol distribution lines damaged by ice, wind, or other causes. COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Semi-routine; majority of work covered by established procedures. Qualifications: - Good written and verbal communication - Strong multi-tasking - Organized and Punctual - Moderate computer skills including MS office and Google Docs - Skill in exercising mature judgement, making decisions, and responding to time sensitive situations Job Requirements: - Must have valid DL - High school diploma or equivalent - Must legally be allowed to work in the US - Vehicle (Given the team-of-two setup, for those without a vehicle, it's possibly to work if you're able to find a partner with a vehicle) - Laptop *highly preferred* but not a deal breaker Please email a copy of your resume if interested.
