Description

Press release from the City of Ames: June 3, 2021 The U.S. Highway 30 eastbound off-ramp to South Duff Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, June 7, to construct improvements at South Duff Avenue (U.S. Highway 69)/U.S. Highway 30/Billy Sunday Road. Traffic will be detoured to the University Boulevard exit on U.S. Highway 30. The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct of Ames for this improvement project. The first phase of the project will also include construction of a new connection from Billy Sunday Road to South Duff Avenue. To complete this work, a temporary sidewalk will be constructed for the shared use path along the east side of South Duff Avenue. Two lanes of travel will be maintained on Billy Sunday Road during this phase, which is anticipated to take one month to complete, weather dependent. Future phases of the project will include South Duff Avenue (U.S. Highway 69) intersection construction, additional Billy Sunday Road construction, and the installation of a new traffic signal. For more information, contact Mark Gansen, Civil Engineer II, at [email protected] or 515.239.5291. For general construction updates, go to www.CityOfAmes.org/Construction.
