Established San Luis Obispo area Civil Engineering Contractor seeking motivated, professional, and career minded Journeyman Equipment Operators to be long term members of our team. We construct a variety of projects including underground, earthwork, structure concrete, process water & wastewater treatment facilities, and sewer lift stations. We are looking for individuals with a skillset, a positive attitude and who are eager to come to work. Our projects throughout the year are typically a blend of 75% to 80% prevailing wage projects with 20% to 25% in the private sector. Projects are performed in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Kern and Monterey Counties. When out of town Specialty pays for motel rooms and a daily per diem where required. Most of our projects are within a commutable range. Applicant needs to have a strong commitment to safety, professional conduct and the ability to be a team player. Class A driver experience a bonus, but not required. Ideal candidate shall have demonstrated experience effectively performing the following duties, but not limited to: • Demonstrate journeyman level operating over a wide range of construction equipment • Display a general knowledge of operating for underground construction, earthwork rough grading & backfill, and finish grading. • Knowledge of construction staking and terminology • Sufficient mechanical knowledge to detect equipment problems and/or potential failures • Should demonstrate reasonable care and responsibility toward equipment maintenance Specialty recognizes that the cornerstone of our success is our people.
