Fleet Tire Technician $15-$17/hr based on experience. Paid Time Off, Insurance available after 60 days. Full Time Employment What We Need Monterrey Iron & Metal, Ltd. is looking for a skilled, self-motivated and knowledgeable. Fleet Tire Technician with attention to detail and safety standards to add to our fleet. ________________________________________ Qualifications and Requirements • Raise vehicles, using hydraulic jacks. Remount wheels onto vehicles. • Unbolt and remove wheels from vehicles, using lug wrenches or other hand or power tools. • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels. • Identify tire size and ply and inflate tires accordingly. • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects. • Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels. Reassemble tires onto wheels. • Seal punctures in tubeless tires by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plugs into punctures, using hand tools. • Inspect tire casings for defects, such as holes or tears. • Locate punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in water baths and observing air bubbles. • Rotate tires to different positions on vehicles, using hand tools. • Order replacements for tires or tubes. • Separate tubed tires from wheels, using rubber mallets and metal bars or mechanical tire changers. • Inflate inner tubes and immerse them in water to locate leaks. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as lubrications, adjustments and safety inspections. • Examine vehicle to determine if any additional safety or repair work is needed. • Keeping the tire shop clean and in order. Learn how to crimp hoses. • Track tire use. Check paperwork on trailers for accuracy. • Learn the water truck operations. • Make and store mud flaps for the fleet. • Ensure that tire inventory including various lugs and bolts are sufficiently supplied. • Communicate with supervisor on any idle time. • Perform roadside service calls when needed. • Assist and supplement any Monterrey Iron and Metal operation wherever and whenever needed. • Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as be a team player • Reliable transportation and punctuality are a must • Good communication skills and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn Benefits • Weekly Pay • Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance available after 60 days • 401K • Paid Time Off • Referral Bonuses • Quarterly Bonus ________________________________________ How to apply: Visit our website at www.monterreyiron.com and click on Careers to have us contact you.
