Description
Hey hey --
I'm a singer/multi-instrumentalist on the hunt for some new friends to make some music with. The goal would be to craft/record an album and then play it live if we feel so inclined. Not really looking to play covers, but rather write tunes together. I'm generally decent at coming up with song ideas but would love to have each song feel like a proper collab between bandmates. I've spent the last several years working as a film composer and my other creative pursuits have kind of taken the backseat. I'd like to change that.
Overall open to the way the sound would shape organically -- but I'd say i'm looking to make music that combines folk and rock, with cinematic tendencies and even gets groovy at times.
Here's some bands that come to mind as inspirations, none too obscure:
The National
Ryan Adams
Sigur Ros
Olafur Arnalds
Darkside
Lord Huron
Ry X
Haelos
War on Drugs
I'm in my early 30s, generally work during the day and would be looking to make music nights and weekends. My apartment likely wouldnt be the spot to set up a drum kit.
Would love to hear a bit about you, what you're into, and hear some previous stuff you've made.
Here's a link to some super rough ideas i've made in recent months. Lots more to share if you'd like to hear.
