Job Description: Nourse Farms, Inc. is looking for a mature, responsible Driver to distribute fresh picked berries promptly to our customers, farm stands and stores in Western/Central Massachusetts and Connecticut. This position also includes performing a variety of duties on the farm. Experience driving a full-size Box Truck or larger is required (under 26,000 lbs.). Must pass DOT physical screening, have good hygiene and professional, courteous manner to maintain good relationships with our customers. This is a seasonal position from June through October but a full-time position may be available for the right candidate. Schedule will vary based on weather and availability of fruit for deliveries. A typical week will be 4-6 days (T, W, Th, Sat, Sun most weeks) from 5:30 am until 4 pm. Some routes may require the driver to work as late as 6 pm. In late July/ early August, will wind back to 3-4 days a week (T, Th, Sat & Sun typically). Responsibilities: Load and unload heavy items (ability to lift 50+ lbs.) manually with a pallet jack; Prepare, inspect and operate a Full-size box truck delivery vehicle; Follow routes and time schedule; Delivery of fresh picked fruit to various locations; Use Square payment platform to accept payments; Complete paperwork as directed; Inspect product for quality issues; Collect monies and interact with customers on behalf of the farm. Skills Proven working experience as a Driver; Valid Driver's license - minimum of Class D license (CDL not required); Clean driving record (must be approved by our insurance company prior to hiring); Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations; Excellent customer service skills; and High school degree or equivalent.
