Position Harness Energy is looking for new talented crew members to join our team as wind and solar field technicians. The positions require manual labor, technical aptitude, a logistical mindset, and a detail oriented approach. The primary responsibilities for someone in the field technician role is to install wind and solar resource assessment stations/towers throughout the country. These technicians work with a variety of tools in order to: compile project details, create trip plans, geolocate site locations, construct station hardware, configure meteorological sensors, program data loggers, deploy wireless modems, and collect high quality documentation. These technicians interface with local project stakeholders from developers to landowners and are responsible for training local maintenance technicians. Requirements & Expectations • Accommodate frequent travel, up to 75% of the year / 3 weeks per month • Adapt to variable scheduling • Exhibit a commitment to working safely • Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals via phone and email • Work as a member of a small team, as well as independently in the field • Follow direction with a close attention to detail and a positive attitude • Occasionally operate with minimal oversight • Effectively use hand and power tools • Effectively use a laptop and a variety of programs/applications • Learn and understand basic low voltage electrical systems • Operate machinery/equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, backhoes, rock drills, jack hammers, compressors, generators, winches • Troubleshoot technological issues • Clean, maintain, and inventory company owned tools/equipment • Contribute during the planning phase of the project by performing regional research and outreach • Act professionally in remote areas, on active construction sites, and in the office • Think creatively and encourage open-mindedness • Continually drive self-improvement and motivate excellence in coworkers • Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures • Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body • Work in various positions, including, but not limited to: standing, stooping, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting • Lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks • Lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday • Sustain prolonged exposure to extreme weather and environmental conditions • Drive long distances in heavy work trucks, often with trailers in tow Benefits • Competitive Hourly Wage • Subsidized Health Insurance • Paid Time Off • Company-matched 401k • Flexible Scheduling • Continual Training & Advancement
