Are you suggesting tht the U.s. has done their part in combating climate change? If so, you are sorely mistaken. Aside form China, the U.S. is still the greatest polluter. The U.S. is the second largest cause of climate change. We are a gluttonous culture that never stops consuming.
Shutting down coal power plants was a great step in slowing climate change. But the work will not be over until the damage to our ozone has been repaired. Every nation on earth needs to participate. Every human on earth needs to participate. We are all part of the problem.
Firefighters do not leave a fire until the fire is extinguished. They stay and work until the fire is out.
