Description
Hey, so if you’re reading this, hopefully you bang on something, strum/pluck/pick something, or you could potentially scratch something or button-push something I suppose. I am putting together a performing group to make music around town this summer. While I intend to definitely play conventional venues, as its a young project, I intend to spend a significant amount of time busking this summer. This is where things get interesting. I have built a 100% off grid battery operated PA, generator (noise!) free, that can play amplified music, loudly, with lights, for many hours... anyplace that there’s flat enough ground to set up. So plan on utilizing this mobility and flexibility to reach some of the city’s harder to access busking locations like parks, etc that are normally impossible/difficult to play live without sound reinforcement. Anyways, Im looking for folks, with chops, with a pro attitude, and a bit of an adventurous spirit to take our music a little mobile this summer. not far, as I live in town here, just wide... into the nooks and crannys that have listeners waiting. so if you make rythms, melodies, have a good understanding of mutual musical language... have some pro sounding gear and a good reliable instrument, ready to be captured on audio, and a willingness to explore a deep, diverse arsenal of original material, hit me up. The hope is to find someone/people willing and wanting to play everything (genre-wise) from “Allman-bros” rock to Bluegrass to Country Classics. From Deep Bass-drops, to Electro-livetronica, from Funk town, to Grateful Dead Covers... Hank Williams to Indie Rock. Jam off of tangents, Killer crunchy distorted rock segments, Long solos for every artist who wants... (hoping for a mutual desire for..) Musical Conversations, No bullshit/drama, Open communication, Personal opinions respected, Questions always ok/encouraged, Respect (and respectful communication) a priority, Songs ready (or willing to work on them collectively... and im not saying you need songs, we are not short on material!), Taking all ideas seriously, Unwilling to settle for laziness, Very serious about your craft... (so).. Want to work together? Xylophones or other uncoventional instruments (especially that band/orchestra instrument you totally slay at but never play) especially encouraged to enquire. You must also love music (and making it hopefully matters to you in your life).... (and) Zydeco should (hopefully) not be off the table. So... if you’re still reading... I’m regretting you didn’t skip to this part, but the overall result of this kaliedoscope of genres is going to be a band that’s pulling off a similar feel to that of The String Cheese Incident, Leftover Salmon, etc., with some flavorings of say... Billy Strings, Greensky Bluegrass (with drums potentially?), Railroad Earth (with more rock/funk), grateful dead and/or phish (with more bluegrass), Yarn (with more musical conversation), Ween without all the “literal” shit lyrics. anyway, let me know if you have any interest in seeing if anything clicks. Im primarily a guitar player, but Ive got plenty of other things to pick up and play on if you want to bring a guitar into this picture. let me know where your interests lie, and lets go from there.
