Job Title: Flour Mill Apprentice Salary: Starting pay $15- $20 per hour depending upon experience Who we are: Early Bird Farm & Mill is a small but growing family business who strives to provide local and regional communities with flavorful, nutrient dense food; growing and sourcing our food with respect and responsibility. We stone mill fresh organic whole grains for customers regionally in Northern California and across the nation for retail, wholesale and online customers including the home baker, farmer’s markets, bakeries, grocery stores, and distributors. We are proud to be part of a healthy and sustainable food system! Essential Responsibilities: Completing daily flour mill orders Keeping mill facility clean and tidy at all times to food safety standards Driving delivery truck throughout the Sacramento Valley Participating in and running Farmer’s Market booths Activities: Packaging grains & flour weighing 2 – 50 pound packages Completing process documentation Stone mill operation Making deliveries in the company vehicle throughout various surrounding counties from Nevada City through the Bay Area Inventory documentation Labeling tags and bags Cleaning mill facility and grounds Qualifications: High School Diploma Growth Mindset Can lift 50# often (and joyfully!) California State Driver’s License At least 18 years of age Passion for local food and farming Teachable Good Work Ethic Skills: Dexterity Attention to detail Good Communication Skills Conscientious Hardworking Building skills a plus Farm/ Ranch Experience a plus Culture: At Early Bird Farm & Mill, we are developing a culture of community and family, unified in our mission to express selflessness and service to others in a profoundly positive, impactful way.
