Summary The Lot Technician is responsible for the organization and presentation of the outdoor trailer and product areas. Maintains the appearance of the lot, unloads, receives freight. Assembles trailers and assists with service and maintenance duties as directed. Provides customer service in support of store sales and service activities. Key Accountabilities Responsible for maintaining a clean, effective and safe selling and work environment through proper assembly, movement, positioning of trailers, truck beds, snow plows, parts other merchandise and supplies. Essential Functions Assemble trailers Park and move trailers Wash and prepare trailers for delivery. Help customers hook-up trailers. Perform visual safety inspection (lights, safety chain, decking, etc.) Maintain lot including but not limited to mowing, weed removal, snow removal, picking up trash, installing exterior signs, banners or flags. Receive and stock trailers, parts and supplies. Support Service Technician as needed. Support opening and closing of the store as directed. Clean and organize store and support areas as directed. Other duties as assigned. Required Education, Experience and Credentials 1. Ability to communicate clearly and follow direction 2. Valid Driver’s License Preferred Education and Experience 1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Physical Demands To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to: Talk and hear, read, write understand and communicate by telephone and in person using the English language. The employee is occasionally required to use hands for typing or telephone dialing. Regular use of hands for feeling, grasping or manipulating objects, tools, or controls. Regular using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, move over uneven surfaces. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Occasional operation of computers, cash register, telephone and printer/copier/scanner/fax. Regular operation of tractors, forklifts, lawn mowers, weed trimmers and other power equipment. Work Hours This position can be either full-time or part-time based upon business needs. Work week may be up to six days and range between 15-30 hours for part-time or 30-40 hours per week for full-time. Overtime may be required occasionally. Travel This position may occasionally require local travel by vehicle.
