A 2-mile or 5-mile race through historic Mineral Point, WI to celebrate the 4th of July! The Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us for the 40th annual Gettin' the Lead Out Historic Run - your choice of a 2-mile or 5-mile course through beautiful historic Mineral Point. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. SHARP. Walkers welcome, too! This course is extremely hilly! Water will be available at the 2 and 4 mile marks and a hose will be available at the finish line. Restrooms are available at the park and the swimming pool will be open after the conclusion of the event. The award ceremony will follow the race. First place finishers in each division receive a commemorative mug from Johnston Gallery; Second place finishers receive a medal. Ribbons will be available for all participants under 12 years.
