Description

TPA Fest is the benefit event for our Sweet 16 fundraiser. It is an outdoor mural festival held July 9th-11th celebrating 10 years of TPA. According to the Florida Department of Health, suicide is the second leading cause of death for individuals 10 to 34 years of age. The Performers Academy has specialized in arts programming as behavioral intervention and mental health resource to the youth of Greater Jacksonville for the last 10 years. It costs a mere $16 for us to provide an hour of arts programming for one "high risk" youth. We offer our teens concentrated exposure to artistic experiences as healthy coping mechanisms and platforms of free expression. Our goal is to raise $16,000 to provide 1,000 hours of TPA programming for the 2021/2022 school year. TPA Fest 2021 is the benefit event for our Sweet 16 fundraiser. It is an outdoor mural festival held July 9th-11th celebrating 10 years of TPA programming for teens who are coping with PTSD, addiction, and/or depression. TPA Fest grants the public the opportunity to tour our 10,000 square foot facility, witness firsthand our methods, engage with our teaching artists, and meet our leadership team. TPA Fest will feature a 3 day interactive 12 mural project spearheaded by Nicole "Nico" Holderbaum; masterclasses from teaching artists Love Reigns, Dr. Shaun Powell, Travis "TravELight" Thomas, and Amalia Rivera; performances from Executive Director Ebony Payne-English, Guest Artist Jeremy Ryan, Award Winning Songwriter MJbaker; and a keynote address from Visual Artist and Executive Director of Any Given Child: Allison Galloway-Gonzalez.
