We need a keyboardist or guitar player interested in playing with West African Percussion. We want someone who is interested in being in a communal style band. The band consists of Dunduns, Djembe, Drumset, Bass(electric/upright), backsinger/percussionist, flute player and lead singer(composer/leader). We have shows coming up and must be able to attend rehearsals in SF during the evening. We would love an easy-going personality who would be interested in created your own part in some songs. We supply the melody and rhythms. You can go to thevoodoocabaret.com and you can listen to music samples from a prior album where the rhythms are Afro-Cuban based. The new show has West African rhythms. Pay varies and depends on the events. We aim to get paid. If interested, please send a link with a sample of music and say something about yourself.
