Please join us at this free event as we celebrate this historic American holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
Hosted by the city's Human Relations and Equity Commission (HREC), this free Celebration will feature live entertainment (headlined by Smoke Jones Detroit Band and a special guest performance by the Brazeal Dennard Chorale), food trucks, 40+ vendor and community resource booths, educational exhibits, rib cooking contest, petting zoo, children's activities, Juneteenth flag presentation, reading of General Order No. 3 and more. Please join us as we celebrate Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, and commemorate the date, June 19, 1865, when all enslaved people in the U.S. learned they were free. All are welcome.
