Learn more about us and our track record on our website: Jansen-inc.com Position Information: Job Title: Civil Site Superintendent Status: Exempt Reports to: Operations Manager General Description: The Site Superintendent is an integral part of our team, responsible for overseeing our construction process and overall construction activities within the established design, budget, and scheduling guidelines. Site Superintendents must have excellence in planning and scheduling, organizing, directing, and controlling activities on the construction site. Key Responsibilities: Manage crews, subcontractors, vendors. Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs. Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, and other construction management. Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers. Create schedules for workers and subcontractors. Assign work accordingly. Maintain daily logs for job site operations, reporting to management when necessary. Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet project deadlines. Implement safety plans and procedures to ensure safety standards. Assist crews in resolving project issues and conflicts. Required Skills/Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills​ Good analytical and organizational abilities are of great importance. Ability to read and interpret specifications and construction plans. Computer proficient; ability to interpret plans and specifications. Take a proactive approach to job and company issues, while tracking downstream effects Demonstrates good management and leadership skills. Work with diverse individuals and organizations representing public agencies, private utilities, subcontractors, and suppliers. Desired Education - Experience - Certifications: At least 5 (five) years experience as a superintendent on public projects. At least 10 years of experience in the industry. An understanding of WSDOT & SDOT standards and specifications. Requires the ability to guide, direct and coordinate the work of multiple activities at the same time. Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan projects and jobs, prioritize work and meet deadlines. PC-based scheduling and spreadsheet applications including Project, Excel, and Word CPR Certified Physical Requirements: Must be able to access and navigate all construction site areas when responsibilities require you to do so. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
