Barber Requirements and Qualifications Must be 18 years old & up High school diploma or GED certificate Barber license (NOT REQUIRED) Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills Organizational and time-management abilities Attention to detail Primary Responsibilities Discuss service options or needs with clients. Clean work areas or facilities. Maintain a list of services you’ve performed throughout the day. Measure, fit, and groom hairpieces Sell or promote products and services. Prep clients for their haircut and ask what type of styling they want Greet and Engage in friendly conversation with clients Keep your station, tools, and equipment sanitized and in good condition Other desirable qualities of a successful barber include being: Dependable Detail-oriented Cooperative Understanding and patience Ethical Social The act of barbering requires possessing many physical skills, as well, including: Arm/hand control, stability Ability to stand for long periods Manual dexterity and strength (the ability to grip and manipulate tools) Finger dexterity (the ability to grasp and manipulate very small objects) No drugs inside or around the barbershop drug-free environment Full time must be able to work an 8hr shift Part-time must be able to work an 6 hr shift Text/ Call (786)359-1489
