Iconic Lighthouse Reopens From Coronavirus Shutdown, Offers Tours

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse will reopen this Saturday, ending its coronavirus shutdown. The iconic Chesapeake Bay structure has been closed for a year. Residents can tour the landmark on 13 Saturdays through Oct. 9. The experience includes a half-hour boat ride from the Annapolis Maritime Museum, an hour tour of the 1875 lighthouse and a half-hour return trip. Tickets cost $85 plus a $6.81 processing fee. Visitors can make reservations at this link to see the last remaining screw-pile lighthouse on the bay. The Chesapeake Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society sponsors the tours.
