RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Law enforcement raids on marijuana cultivation sites continued this week, with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announcing the discovery Wednesday of approximately two and a half tons of cannabis east of Temecula.
The department along with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife served five marijuana cultivation-related search warrants at separate residences/properties in the unincorporated areas of Sage and Anza.
During the law enforcement operation, approximately 4,445 marijuana plants were eradicated and 2,800 pounds of processed marijuana were collected for a total combined weight of over two and a half tons, according to the sheriff's department.
One handgun was also collected for evidence, the agency reported.
No suspects were found at the properties, but follow-up investigations were ongoing.
