Description

Press release from the City of Roseville: June 2, 2021 Roseville Parks and Recreation Department is identifying resident geese that are nesting in city parks. The city is looking for volunteers to follow the local goose population and submit observations to city staff. A goose surveyor volunteer will be asked to survey a park that has a history of a goose population. Volunteers will observe the geese at least twice a week and fill out an online form with the number of goslings and adults and how many families or large groups of geese they see. Volunteers will be asked to make other observations, including goose behavior, the amount of goose droppings and other wildlife in the area. Information is being collected to better understand the number of geese in certain areas and their habits in the Roseville Park and Recreation system. Please contact Roseville Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Boggs at [email protected] or 651-792-7028 if you are interested in helping to monitor Roseville's goose population. Volunteers will be provided training and will be assigned a specific location. Staff will try to match volunteers to their preferred parks. Participants are needed to help at a variety of parks throughout the city. This press release was produced by the City of Roseville. The views expressed here are the author's own.
