Bloom Trail High School To Hold Vaccine Clinic For Community

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Bloom Trail High School will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Friday, for students and community members who are interested in receiving it. The event is being held in partnership with Howard Brown Health and will offer the — recently approved for children ages 12 and older — Pfizer shot. Similar to the vaccination event held at Bloom High School on May 28, Bloom Trail will hold the event from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., then reconvene from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the school's cafeteria. The school asks that those interested in participating arrive to their appointments 15 minutes early. Parking for the event will be available on the Sauk Trail side of the school. All are welcome to receive the vaccine, including walk-ins. The clinic is only offering a first dose, and anyone who registers for the clinic will automatically be registered for a second shot on July 2, at the same time as the initial appointment. All Illinois populations can receive the vaccine, regardless of insurance coverage, immigration status and those who are undocumented. Howard Brown Health states that the service is offered at no cost, and insurance is not required when receiving the inoculation. Signed parent or guardian consent is needed prior to a minor receiving the vaccine. Consent forms will be available on site.
