CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius police made 12 arrests this past week, including a 34-year-old man who was charged with felony assault by strangulation, according to the police blotter. Two vehicle break-ins were reported to police, along with four cases of larceny, Cornelius Police Department said. Officers issued more than two dozen citations to drivers last week, for infractions that included failure to wear a seat belt, speeding and failing to carry a valid driver's license. Cornelius Police Department made the following arrests between May 26 - June 1, 2021: Trevor Wallace Toothman, 24, was arrested May 26 on Magnolia Estates Drive, charged with misdemeanor intoxicated and disruptive. Thomas Shea Pickels, 46, was arrest May 26 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with driving while impaired. Michael Derek Horne, 32, was arrested May 26 on Pine Street, charged with misdemeanor assault on a female, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of heroin, and felony possession of methamphetamine. Matthew Joseph Stevens, 34, was arrested May 27 on Catawba Avenue, charged with felony assault by strangulation. Ashley Nichole Beck, 31, was arrested May 27 on Chandler's Landing Drive, charged with driving while impaired Dominic Antoine Lowe, 35, was arrested May 27 on Chandler's Landing Drive, charged with operate vehicle with no insurance. Preston Neil Burns, 35, was arrested May 28 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with DWLR Not impaired revoked Claire Patricia Atkins-Davis, 36, was arrested May 29 on Long Pond Lane, charged with driving while impaired Larry Eugene Stinson, 46, was arrested May 30 on Catawba Avenue at Statesville Road, charged with misdemeanor possession drug paraphernalia Roger Dale Weaver, 36, was arrested May 31 on Catawba Avenue at Holiday Lane, charged with driving while impaired. Darrell James Lewis, 44, was arrested June 1 on Liverpool Parkway, charged with felony habitual larceny. Daniel Patrick Haggart, 49, was arrested June 1 on Island View Drive, charged with hit/run leaving scene with property damage and reckless driving to endanger.
