Vaccine Buses For 'Zillenials' Heading To The West Village: Mayor

WEST VILLAGE, NY — If you're out at a West Village bar Friday night, you'll want to keep an eye out for Dante de Blasio and the mobile vaccine bus fleet zooming around the neighborhood. The buses will station themselves around neighborhood bars and restaurants in an effort to find "Zillenials" that haven't gotten a COVID-19 vaccine yet. What's a Zillenial, you ask? Mayor Bill de Blasio says they are New Yorkers up to the age of 25. The vaccine buses will be in the West Village Thursday and Friday night, but the mayor did not specify where in the neighborhood exactly. "We are going to go where young New Yorkers are, and we're going to promote this idea in so many ways," de Blasio said during his Thursday morning press conference. The mayor added that some Lower Manhattan bars and restaurants will offer "shot for shot" deals and reminded New Yorkers to drink responsibly. He also challenged his son to use his DJing skills to help attract younger New Yorkers to the vaccine buses for a free shot of Pfizer. While the mayor didn't specify where in the West Village the vaccine buses would park besides outside of bars and restaurants, de Blasio's office has released a list of Lower Manhattan locations where the buses will be in coming days.
