PHOENIX, AZ — The Phoenix City Council unanimously approved a $425,000 settlement with a woman to settle her lawsuit alleging that an on-duty police officer sexually assaulted her while she was in custody. Krystofer Lee, who sued the city, was one of three who were sexually assaulted by Phoenix Officer Sean Pena, according to her lawsuit. She was in custody in the back of Pena's patrol car at the time of the assault, the suit said. The department fired Pena in July 2020, and he faces seven felony charges ranging from sexual assault to unlawful sexual conduct.
