The Long Island Yacht Club is seeking a part time janitor/maintenance person responsible for the upkeep of all grounds and facilities. Responsibilities include: Maintain common areas to ensure they are kept tidy which include: grounds, patios, docks, playground, pool, tennis courts, beach, kitchen, bathrooms, restaurant, bars, and storage facilities Basic Janitorial tasks, including bathroom upkeep of toilets, sinks, and showers, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, wiping windows, cleaning spills, etc Grounds upkeep, daily property safety walks, pick up garbage and debris, sweep walkways, vacuum pool, etc. Ability to recognize/identify, and report to our company management; building and property problems, hazards and liabilities, i.e. broken lock, paint chipping, leaky sink, light out, damage to a structure, etc. General knowledge of and ability to perform light basic facility maintenance functions such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, power washing, fence repair, etc Able to work with a variable work schedule, depending on the season and events calendar Qualifications: Minimum High School Education or equivalent Willingness to perform all assigned tasks with good work and safety habits Strong teamwork skills Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level Excellent communication skills Ability to solve problems involving the facility, grounds and emergency situations Scope + Compensation: 20-30 hours per week; additional hours as required. Regular schedule to be consistent with established hours of operation Additional hours available if the individual is willing to fill in as a dishwasher and barback Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16-17 per hour
