Do you LOVE ANIMALS!!! Do you have an interest in agriculture and where your food comes from? Do you want your kids to learn responsibility and how to care for living creatures? Maybe you want to start your own homestead or you just want some one on one time with animals for some emotional healing. Whatever your reason, it has always been my passion to share my love of animals with people who are like minded. We are a small 2 acre homestead, we raise horses, sheep and a few cattle, located just off of I25 and the Erie exit. I have been raising animals and giving horse back riding lessons for over 20 years now. I’ve been a volunteer 4H leader, did 4H myself, trained horses for clients, and my kids are currently doing the same. Participants will learn proper animal care; brushing, bathing, vaccination and parasite control, record keeping, feeding rations and training. You will learn about composting and some gardening, and drive a tractor. There is limited space and due to covid we will be keeping this a very small, semi private activity so reserve your spot early. Sessions are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 12pm, beginning June 1. More to be added as interest is generated. Cost is $75 per day. Participants can come 1, 2 or 3 times per week. If they love it they are welcome to continue to sign up. Parents are welcome to stay if the desire, or there’s some great shopping near by!! We have British white cattle, Jacob sheep, horses, birds, dogs and cats. We will be halter training sheep cattle and baby horses. Saddle training older horses, trailer training and doing some riding. Cleaning pens and learning about different tools, and the necessity of them on the farm. I currently give horseback riding lessons, but my lesson classes are full. I however, have had other express interest in people just wanting to have their kids come for animal therapy and just learning responsibilities and caring for animals. I have references available. If weekends are best, please include that, as I said if there’s enough interest I’m flexible enough to do some weekend sessions!! I prefer children over 10 for these particular sessions and adults are also welcome to sign up!! If there is enough interest for a younger group I would be willing to put something together for that.
