Description
Basic Function: Under general direction and supervision of Manager, monitors, supervises and performs the work of custodian(s) as needed on the day and evening shifts. Performs a variety of tasks as a working supervisor relative to facility maintenance; provides assistance to Manager of custodial services. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of the custodial staff responsible for facility maintenance. Ensure custodial quality of productivity standards is well maintained. Makes daily inspections of all day and evening staff custodial work and recommend corrective action, when necessary. Train and coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures and techniques. Assist, supervise and perform duties on projects for special exhibitions; floor care and special events. Monitor and control supplies and equipment. Provide assistance in year-end inventory supplies and equipment Implements the employee training program through on the job training. Makes effective recommendations on custodial performances, cleaning supplies and cleaning tools and assist in employee training on their use. Analyzes and provide support in all emergency situations. Implements safety regulations as needed. Oversee and perform snow removal from sidewalks, emergency entrances, and driveways using hand shovel or mechanized equipment to assist the Grounds department. Performs any duty assigned by the Manager related to Custodial Services. Ensure that employees follow established work schedules and breaks. Give input and feedback on performance reviews under the supervision of the Custodial Manager. Qualifications Applicant must have a high school education or equivalent Three years previous cleaning experience desired. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to operate automatic floor machines, wet/dry vacuum, higher pressure washer, buffers and similar equipment preferred.
