The City of South Lake Tahoe is currently seeking applications to fill Seasonal/Temporary lifeguard and swim instructor positions at the Recreation and Swim Complex. Lifeguards and Swim Instructors must be American Red Cross Certified. Training provided for qualified candidates. Pool Lifeguard-All Lifeguards are required to have: ARC Lifeguard/1st Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and ability to obtain Title 22-First Aid for Public Safety Personnel within the first year of employment. Must pass a basic swim test and in-water rescue drills. Head Pool Lifeguard-Head Lifeguards are required to have: ARC Lifeguard/1st Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Title 22- First Aid for Public Safety Personnel, and a minimum of 2 years Head Lifeguard experience. Recreation Instructor-Must be 16 years of age or older, able to conduct swim instruction for all ages and abilities, demonstrate an understanding of teaching and learning styles. Must hold a current Water Safety Instructor Certification (WSI) through American Red Cross. Apply online at
