Description
Are you a guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist, or a combination of those? Are you into indie pop-rock music? New wave? Permanent wave? Art rock? I'm an indie singer-songwriter, and I'm reaching out to DC musicians who have modern sensibilities and get showmanship, visual flair, and audience participation. I write, sing, play synths/piano, acoustic guitar, and keytar. I'm aiming to form a live band to play local gigs in 2021-22. This project celebrates all genres but draws most heavily from danceable indie, new wave, funk, and synth-pop that makes a live audience move. Lyrically, the project explores social commentary and deep lyrics on all things revolutionary - social issues, politics, technology, philosophy, spirituality... and, of course, love. It had a great initial run before COVID hit: 20 original songs, two EPs, one LP, 17 live shows in the DMV area, and nearly 100,000 streams on Spotify so far. There's a new album coming out, and I'm working on a third. There's enough material for a solid 90 minutes, plus with your covers and originals, I'm sure we can build a kick-ass show. I'd love to form deep bonds with future friends and try out the material with actual crowds. After that, who knows what's next... Specifically, I'm looking for: • One lead/rhythm guitarist who can sing background or lead • Second guitarist or second keyboardist who can sing background or lead • At least one of the above should be female Initially, this might start as a trio with backing tracks. Once the sound starts to gel, we'd recruit bass and drums. I have good relations with local musicians, bands, venues, studios, and booking agents (Jammin Java, Union Stage, Pieshop, Pearl Street, Songbyrd, 7DrumCity). If all this sounds like something you'd be into, shoot me an email. Just let me know your commitment level upfront. If you just want to play gigs for a while and move on, totally cool. Or, if things are really clicking, let's explore a deeper collaboration. Whatever works for you. Tell me more about you, your musical journey, your influences, and your goals, and we'll connect. Include links.
