Description
In various Craigslist posts, this guy has claimed to be a working, successful music publisher, artist manager, and event producer. He brazenly brags about the income he brings in from music publishing while claiming to be more successful and have more money than any of the "$20 and a beer acts around here."
However, he also has at least two active (online charity) accounts in which he asks for charitable donations, because it
"...is very hard for me as I am on a small veteran's pension."
Only one can be true.
To claim that you're a successful, working businessman in order to impress people in an attempt to drum up business - when, in fact, you survive on a "small veteran's pension"....is fraud.
To claim that you're down-and-out to the point that you beg for charitable donations on the internet - when, in fact, you are a successful manager and publisher who is "collecting thousands of $$$"....is fraud.
Just because a person is old, it does not give them the right to lie to people in order to make their own life easier. The law says what this person is doing is blatantly illegal. He gives a bad name to legitimate professionals in the entertainment industry, and he hurts the cause of those who legitimately need the charitable assistance of others.
It is a sad situation. That also does not make it any less illegal.
