Job Details for Specimen Processor: Schedule: Monday through Saturday- various shifts available Pay Rate: $16-$17 Receives, unpacks, completes chain of custody and related documentation, accessions into LIMS, returns samples, monitors department reports and performs support activities in the department. 4 month contract Job Responsibilities & Description for Specimen Processor: Receiving and Opening packages Transporting samples to the lab Inventory storage Create specimen homogenates Monitor backlog report, retrieve, prepare and document samples for outsourced testing Create blank tissues for Lab Maintain chain of custody documentation Accession clinical samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Second reviews (clinical) Package samples for return to client Job Requirements for Specimen Processor: Ability to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to manipulate computer keyboard, objects, or controls Requires walking from one work location to another throughout the shift Sitting and standing for up to extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying objects up to 10 pounds Ability to travel as needed for court testimony. Specific vision abilities (with correction) include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Exposure to intermittent or constant sounds generated by equipment Exposure to fumes, noxious odors and dust Handling of biological material and blood-borne pathogens Handling of toxic or caustic chemicals High school diploma MS Office and typing/data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
