Need older parenting views

I'm doing a paper over the summer on how parenting views have changed from the fifties until now. All i have is my and my moms views since my Grandparents are gone. I know people raised their kids different and went to church a lot more but don't know how older parents think about it now. Not just about discipline and punishment but how it was better and worse than it is today for a parent. Thanks for any help. Also, I do baby sitting and pet sitting over the summer but you have to bring them to my house. Kerri
