Position Summary: This position is responsible for meeting production schedules by ensuring that machines are kept running, supplied with materials, and all manufactured products meet quality standards. Essential Functions: • Comply with all company and statutory safety rules to ensure the wellbeing of all departmental employees. • Responsible for the housekeeping of designated working area/machines. • Continually inspect manufactured product both visually and dimensionally per quality plan. • Responsible for operating machines in the designated machine parameters. • Responsible for maintaining adequate material levels at the machine. • Responsible for restarting machines after interruption in his/her designated working area. • Ensure that material/color are present at the machine. • Assist in changes and equipment repairs. • Responsible for moving manufactured product out of production. • Must understand the manufacturing sequence and role in it. Required Education & Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent required. • 2-3 years manufacturing experience operating production equipment preferably of a similar nature required. • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Supervisory Responsibility: Backup: None Another Machine Operator or Set-Up Technician designated by the department supervisor will replace the employee in case of sickness or absence. Language Skills: Physical Demands: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to managers or employees of the organization. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
