NAACP of Ozaukee County's 31st Annual Freedom Fund Event The Annual Freedom Fund Event is a chance for members to spend an evening celebrating the pursuit of civil rights. Additionally, fundraised money will contribute to the growth of the organization and provide college scholarships to deserving students. The scholarship money that is given to students helps make going to the school of their dreams a reality. Additionally, other awards will be given to well deserving individuals and an organization. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is primarily a volunteer organization, whose strength derives from its roots in local communities. As the nation’s largest and oldest grassroots civil rights organization, the primary focus of the NAACP continues to be the protection and enhancement of the civil rights of African Americans. We are the Ozaukee County (WI) Branch of the NAACP. The NAACP is supported by membership fees, fundraising events, private gifts, foundation grants, and contributions from corporations. The NAACP has always been diverse and will continue to be so. Membership is open to anyone believing in the basic tenets of the NAACP.
